Merry Christmas, MUSERS!

I looked everywhere...there are no MUSE Christmas songs to be found. That being said; Dominic is the sexiest Santa ever. What do you guys think about a MUSE Christmas CD?

MUSE Song of the Week 12/19/2010

One of my new favorites...love the passion in Matt's voice. Apparently they don't do this song live anymore because it strains Matt's voice too much (see comments below video) but I'd LOVE to see this performed live. Maybe if we get a petition going?

MUSE Song of the Week 12/05/2010

Ok, so as promised, I'm NOT choosing a Black Holes and Revelations song this week. You can give my husband a little thanks for that. He says Uprising MUST be the MUSE song of the week. So here it is......

MUSE Song of the Week 11/28/2010

Time again for the MUSE song of the week....

This has never been one of my favorite MUSE songs, but lately it has been appealing to me more and more. I seem to have developed a wee crush on Dominic Howard lately too... this may lead to the appeal. Dominic is an amazing drummer and is really showcased in this song. Check out the version on the CD and listen to the drums around a minute into the song...muy excelente!

I seem to be on a Black Holes and Revelations kick, huh? Maybe I'll branch out next week!

Happy MUSEing!

Giving Thanks....

It's the day after Thanksgiving and I continue thinking about giving thanks. As I sat at lunch yesterday surrounded by my grandmother, my husband and his family, I began to think about all of the things I am thankful for. It sounds cheesy, but I feel like so many people forget about Thanksgiving and move on to Christmas and never think about the meaning of the holiday. This year, I have a lot to be thankful for... It's been a big year for me.  My family is safe, I got married, I graduated from my Masters program and came into the workforce, and I've had the pleasure of SEVERAL jobs in a bad economy that I've been able to hand pick when others have had nothing. I am THANKFUL.

I also realized that as silly as this may sound, I am thankful for MUSE. MUSE has brought so much joy and happiness to my life over the past year and has brought me into contact with some wonderful people. I also got to see them in concert and for this I am eternally grateful. The soul that is poured into their music is moving... and I cannot wait to see them again. The band has also brought my husband and myself closer together... He liked the music but was not convinced of their greatness until the concert. Now, we have good (quality) music that we like to listen to together on a regular basis.

What are you thankful for this year? :)

MUSE Song of the Week 11/21/2010

I know it's been a few days since I posted... got a lot of stress going on with starting a new job and then of course, I'm also sick. I seem to have great luck flowing lately (sarcasm, by the way).

Anyway, the song of the week had to go on...

This week's song is Starlight off the Black Holes and Revelations CD. This song always makes me think of my grandfather and the stars on my tattoo that represent him were inspired by this song.

"Starlight; I will be chasing your starlight until the end of my life....."

Have a good week everyone!

MUSE Song of the Week 11/14/2010

My plan is to post a MUSE "Song of the Week" every Sunday.

Map of the Problematique is a song that never fails to interest me and make me bob my head a little even if the day is completely shot... So, I figured this was the perfect video to start off with.

This song was released on the Black Holes and Revelations CD and is rumored to be partially about Matt Bellamy's (lead guitarist and vocalist) relationship with now ex-girlfriend who of course I'm interested in because she is a.... you guessed it! A Clinical Psychologist!

"Why can't we see when we bleed we bleed the same?" So true... my favorite line from the song, by far!

MUSE are so awesome that Map of the Problematique is currently featured on the official trailer from The Tourist which is a movie starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, coming out in December 2010. The trailer for the movie is posted below.

As usual, continue letting me know what you think!

New to this...

Welcome to my blog! As a counselor, I know it is important to have a place to let out feelings and thoughts whether it be through a journal, creating art, or writing on a blog.  Since I have no artistic talent whatsoever, blogging is going to be my escape. Hopefully, along the way, I'll be able to help a few people or at least add a few laughs or a bit of encouragement to their lives.

I plan to share my knowledge of addiction, a few thoughts about my favorite band MUSE, and probably do a little ranting and raving along the way.

As previously stated, I'm new to this! I'm still experimenting with arranging this blog the way I would like for it to be arranged... so if anyone is reading this, please bear with me. I'm open to comments, suggestions and questions.
